Fanara Fine Arts 4-Zone Oil Paint Brush Cleaner

$79.95

FINALLY, A BRUSH CLEANER THAT CLEANS TO THE CORE™

Leftover paint shouldn’t muddy your next color.

The Fanara Fine Arts 4-Zone Oil Paint Brush Cleaner is a full-size, lidded stainless-steel station for cleaning wet oil paint between color changes.

  • Cleaner brushes for cleaner color changes. Work paint out from between the bristles, not just off the surface, so less of the previous color reaches your next mixture.

  • Room for larger brushes. Clean broad studio brushes without crowding them into a small jar.

  • Clean above the sludge. The raised cleaning deck keeps ordinary brush contact well above settled paint at the bottom.

  • A premium finish for your studio. An oil-rubbed bronze body pairs with a champagne bronze lid and gold-toned FANARA FINE ARTS branding.

Four cleaning zones. Match the contact to your brush.

Instead of relying on a small coil, screen, or plate, the Fanara Fine Arts 4-Zone Cleaner has multiple cleaning actions for various brush types, sizes, and paint loads:

  1. FLEX ROW
For medium and softer synthetic brushes. Cleans both the surface and between the bristles.

  2. FIRM ROW
For stiff, loaded hog-bristle brushes. Pulls paint out of packed bristles.

  3. EDGE WIPE
Scalloped edges pull paint off the brush and strip excess solvent.

  4. SCRUB ZONE
Loosens and releases paint through controlled contact along the side of the brush.

Lift-out parts. Straightforward maintenance.

When it’s time for fresh solvent, the cleaning deck and separate sediment tray lift out for cleaning. The lid lifts off and drops back into place between uses, with nothing to unscrew.

Designed by oil painter Philip Fanara in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Includes: Vessel, lid, assembled 4-Zone cleaning deck, sediment tray, and illustrated quick-start guide.

Free standard shipping.

For artist-grade odorless mineral spirits only. OMS and painting brushes are not included. Do not use water or other cleaning liquids. Intended for fixed studio use; the lid is not sealed for transport.

SEE WHAT COMES OUT AFTER CLEANING.

A brush can look clean and still carry the last color.

Watch the Fanara 4-Zone cleaner in a side-by-side cleaning demonstration. Compare the brush contact - and the paint left behind on the final wipe.

FOUR ACTIONS. THE RIGHT CONTACT FOR YOUR BRUSH.

Choose the action that suits your brush:

  1. FLEX ROW: General cleaning for medium and softer synthetic brushes.

  2. FIRM ROW: Concentrated contact for loaded hog-bristle brushes.

  3. EDGE WIPE: Strip paint and excess solvent with controlled upward draws.

  4. SCRUB ZONE: Release bulk paint along the side of the brush.

CLEAN ABOVE THE SLUDGE, NOT DOWN IN IT.

The cleaning deck sits above a lower settling region, separating ordinary brush contact from material that has settled at the bottom.

Removed paint passes through the deck, and sediment collects below, including in the independently removable tray.

When it’s time for fresh OMS, lift the deck and let it drain, transfer the spent OMS to an appropriate sealable container, then remove and clean the tray with a small amount of fresh OMS. Return the clean, dry tray, reseat the deck, and refill according to the quick-start guide.

Fine pigment can remain suspended. This is a settling system, not a filter. Never use water or pour OMS or paint residue into a drain.

A COMPLETE STUDIO STATION.

DESIGNED FROM THE PAINTER’S SIDE OF THE EASEL.

I started building this cleaner because I wanted to spend more time painting and less time working the last color out of my brushes.

I had tried the familiar coil jars, screens, and perforated-plate washers. In my own studio, I kept running into the same compromises: cramped room for larger brushes, cleaning surfaces that treated very different brushes the same way, and settled paint close to where I was still cleaning.

I wanted something different: room to work, contact that suited the brush, and a cleaning deck above the sludge.

Years of prototypes and actual painting sessions led to the 4-Zone system. I’ve used evolving versions of it throughout that process, refining the parts that matter when you’re standing at the easel with a loaded brush.

I’m making it available because I don’t think a brush cleaner should be the part of your painting setup you keep working around.
