Growing up in rural Louisiana, the open fields, gravel roads, quiet evenings, porch lights, and the kind of stillness that makes ordinary moments feel permanent. These experiences and sense of place continues to shape my work.
My style merges traditional painting with occasional hints of surrealism. I am drawn to that line between realism and imagination, tradition and surrealism, the ordinary and the dreamlike. I often paint places we want to step into - quiet, beautiful, restful spaces where the noise of daily life falls away and you can simply breathe and enjoy life… Enjoy living.
My paintings are built around the belief that art is a way for us to connect with our true selves. To put aside the unnecessary worry and grind of life and pay closer attention to the beauty that surrounds us. This is why I create works that invite us to slow down, remember, reflect, and feel comfortable.
I work with professional-grade oil paints, high quality oil-primed linen and cotton canvases and panels to ensure the artwork preserves for many generations.
While the landscapes and culture of the South deeply influence my style, my subjects range from nostalgic Americana and emotional portraiture to still life and exploratory abstracts. Across all, the common thread is producing visually rich, emotionally familiar, and quietly thought-provoking artwork.
